Low density polyethylene (LDPE) is a light-weight, flexible and strong material, making it ideal for all kinds of fine forming applications.

These sheets are great for vacuum forming over concrete or plaster items, or for making resin casting moulds. They can reproduce the fine details of the object, similar to what you would get with silicone. LDPE is also the only material that does not stick to resin (epoxy) objects.

In comparison to silicone moulds, LDPE shells have significantly greater durability. While silicone moulds typically endure only about 20 uses, LDPE moulds can be reused hundreds of times or even serve as permanent moulds. So LDPE is a great alternative to silicone moulds.

Extras:

• LDPE is easily broken if the forming pressure is higher than 60 kPa. It is recommended to appropriately reduce the suction power and use microporous forming bed add-ons.

• Best forming temperature: 115 - 120 ˚C
• Application temperature: -40 - 90 ˚C

Usage:

Resin casting moulds, handmade soap moulds, plaster moulds, concrete moulds, etc. It is very suitable for fine turning moulds.
